Flying To the Gathering

So you wanna fly. Good choice. Fast, comfortable, and if you arn't scared of heights, pretty fresh. But buying a plane ticket is one of the hardest things to do if you don't want to get ripped off. Travel agents are snakes. Unless you have an Aunt or A good friend who is one and would hook you up, stay the fuck away from them. Personal experiance talking there.

Instead use all of the resources you can in comparing airfare and deals. Alot of you Juggalos don't know all of the resources out there (and not for one minute am I fronting that I do) so I'm going to try and help you juggalos out anyway possible.

First off, Toledo is a small airport and you would most likely have to take an express plane from detroit down to Toledo. This can be expensive. What you may want to do when comparing prices is check the prices for your town to Toledo, and Your town to Detroit. It may be a lot fucking cheaper to fly to detroit and then Taxi on down to Toledo. In fact I believe there are several shuttle Buses from Toledo to Detroit and Vice-Versa. I will try and get more information for you juggalos.

Also if you are going to call an airline, don't just ask for fares. Ask for deals, discounts, find out about standby flying, everything. Ticket agents are not paid to find you deals, they are paid to sell you a ticket.. but when they are asked, they will look and if they find something, they will sell. Want to get on a ticket agents good side? Tell them before the call that you want to talk to their supervisor afterwards to talk about the service you are about to recieve. Odds are that whatever dirt cheap rates are out there, they will find.

Take your time, start looking early. And remember to SHOP AROUND. Sometimes if you even mention that one airline has a deal going and asking if they can beat it, they will knock money off the price.

Also Juggalos remember to visit the Rydas DISCOUNTS (HYPERLINK) section. If there is any other way to save money, it's in there.

Here are links to various Airlines, rate finders, discount webpages, and travel guides.

Priceline.com

My only problem with this site Juggalos is this. Naming your own price. Priceline is also a travel agency type deal but namely known for naming your own price. My problem with this. You can not just see what kinda rates you can get. It's a touch and go situation. Once you put in your info and your bid is accepted.. you are stuck with that ticket. It's great if you have a basic idea of what prices and deals are going for and you are positive you want to fly air.
Do yourself a favor first and check around and see what you could get, then put in a even lower bid on priceline. It can't hurt but you won't get screwed. Also, be SURE you want the ticket. You must be 18 to use this service and pick up a ticket so for ninjalos under 18, this ain't for you.
Travelocity.com
The only thing I like about this site is that it researches the cost of flights for you. It gives you a very basic idea of how much shit is going to cost you. Click on "flights" and put in the destination/departure frields. This will give you a very expensive price but it will give you something to budget on. You can do better, it's just a matter of research.
Also if you click on the "Deals" button on the navigation bar there are sometimes things there for really cheap.
